Judges 5
1. Glory to God (5:1-12)
1) Sovereign who made the chosen people victorious
- Jud. 4:7 - I will lure Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon river and five him into your hands.
- Jud. 5:3 - "Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers! I will sing to the LORD, I will sing; I will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel."
- God is always on side of the people of the covenant -We must praise him in any circumstances
2) Give glory of oneness of prince and the people to God
- Jud. 5:2 - "When the princes in Israel take the lead, when the people willingly offer themselves - praise the LORD!"
- Matt. 12:30 - "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with em scatters."
3) God receives glory through history of salvation
- Verse 6 - "In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the roads were abandoned;"
- Verse 7 - Village life in Israel ceased, ceased until I, Deborah, arose, arose a mother in Israel.
- Verse 8 - When they chose new gods, war came to the city gates, and not a shield or spear was seen among forty thousand in Israel.
- Verse 9 - My heart is with Israel's princes, with the willing volunteers among the people. Praise the LORD!
- Verse 10 - "You who ride on whites donkeys, sitting on your saddle blankets, and you who walk along the road, consider.
- Verse 11 - The voice of the singers at the watering plaes. They recite the righteous act of the LORD, the righteous acts of his warriors in Israel.
- Verse 12 - 'Wake up, wake up, break out in song! Arise, O Barak! Take aptive your captives, O son of Abinoam.'

Verse 31 - May they who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength
- 1 Cor. 15:58 - Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
