Women Who Selected the Land of the Covenant

 Ruth 1:6-18

1. We must have a realization – Grace

- Salvation is God’s grace, but knowing Jesus Christ and God’s blessing of salvation is a grace as well

1) Those who succeed in the bible had a grace of realization and they did not look for the physical goods, but saw their future and made decision with faith

(1) Abraham, the father of faith

- Gen 12:2

- Gen 12:10

- Gen 13:3-4

- Gen 13:8

- Gen 22:1-20

(2) Joseph (Gen 37:1-11) – Realized God’s plan

(3) Hannah (1Sam. 1:11)

- Importance of spiritual education (decision of faith)

(4) Naomi’s realization (Ruth 1:6-8)

- She realized later and went back to her land, the land of promise and blessings

- Even though we have hardships, inside of God’s mission, we must build churches for the next generation and must not lose hold of the blessings of the evangelist

- What is our main occupation and side job?

(5) Orpah’s realization (Ruth 1:9-14)

- She had a realization of present that has no future. She went back to her god, idol

(6) Ruth’s realization (Ruth 1:14)

- Ruth’s realization is not just an ordinary realization. She found the eternal blessings and she discovered the covenant that Naomi had

- Ruth 1:17 – Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.

2. After the realization – Needs decision (Ruth 1:15-18)

(1) Naomi’s suggestion could not win the value of covenant (Ruth 1:15-17)

- Ruth 1:17

(2) Ruth decision made her life (Ruth 1:18)

- Ruth 1:18 – When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

3. Opportunity (Ruth 1:6-13)

- The same opportunity has given to Orpah and Ruth

(1) Orpah

- Physical desire

(2) Ruth

- She did not miss the opportunity that God gave

1. Where you go I will go, where you stay I will stay (Ruth 1:16, 17)

2. She trusted God = Faith (Ruth 1:16)

3. She was not confused about where she went for the first time (Ruth 1:16)

Conclusion

1. Realization = Correct discernment
2. Make a correct decision
3. Do not miss an opportunity
