1. Marriage is giving glory to God (Ruth 4:1-10)

1) Asked for the Kinsman-Redeemer’s opinion (Ruth 4:1-6)

- Ruth 4:4c – “… and I am next in line.”

- Ruth 4:5 – “… you acquire the dead man’s widow, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property.”

- Ruth 4:6 – “… I cannot redeem it because I might endanger my own estate. You redeem it yourself. I cannot do it.”

2) Had a witness (Ruth 4:7-10)

- The kinsman-Redeemer removed his sandal and gave it to Boaz and the elders were the witnesses

2. Marriage is a restoration of blessings (Ruth 4:11-15)

1) The people and the elders’ blessings (Ruth 4:11-12)

(1) Just like Rachel and Leah who built the Israel

(2) Standing in Ephrathah (a town located in the entry of the Bethlehem) – Blessing from the beginning

(3) May you be famous in Bethlehem – A body life

(4) Received a son from Ruth and enjoyed the blessing of successful marriage – Experienced Perez

2) Gave birth to a son (Ruth 4:13)

3) Blessing of the women (Ruth 4:14)

- The women said to Naomi: “Praise be to the LORD, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer. May he become famous throughout Israel!”

- Women did not have jealousy – Blessing of meeting

4) Women’s blessing (Ruth 4:15) – Gave the blessings to Naomi

(1) He will renew your life

(2) He will sustain you in your old age

(3) For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth.

3. Marriage is a restoration of commission (Ruth 4:10-22)

1) She cared for him (Ruth 4:16)

- Then Naomi took the child, laid him in her lap and cared for him

2) Grand-son=Obed à Jesse à David

- The covenant fulfilled a royal family
