1Sam. 3:1-18

Intro.

(1) Life that has a mystery of Christ

- 1Cor4:1 – So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God

- Isa 40:31 – But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

(2) Events and problems don’t just come

(3) Uniqueness – Gospel (Hannah who realized Christ and God’s plan and received the blessing of salvation)

1. Urgent age without the covenant

1) Two sons of the Priest Eli – Did not grab hold of the covenant (1Sam2:12-17)

(1) 1Sam 2:12 (Body life)

a. 1Sam 2:13-17

b. 1Sam 2:22

c. 1Sam 2:25

(2) Conclusion of life

a. 1Sam 2:34 -> 1Sam 4:11

2) Age without the covenant – When Samuel served Jehovah

(1) God’s Word was rare (1Sam 3:1)

- Psalms 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

- Word + Prayer = Answer

(2) Eli’s eyes were becoming so weak (1Sam 3:2) – He was also weak spiritually

- 1Sam 3:17

2. God called Samuel who was inside the covenant

1) Samuel lived inside of the covenant in the age without the covenant (1Sam 3:2)

2) God called the covenant centered Samuel (1Sam 3:4-9)

3) He received God’s message (1Sam 3:10-18)

Conclusion

- The age without the covenant – We must open the eyes to see this age

1) Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was. (1Sam 3:3)

2) We must listen to God’s voice – Message (1Sam 3:10)

(1) Pulpit message + Prayer = Answer

(2) Focus on raising the Remnants (RUTC, OMC)

(3) What is my mission? (Family, church, and society)

3) Live a life of fulfilling God’s Word (1Sam 3:19)
