(The Wisdom to be Learned From an Ant)

잠언 (Pr.) 6:6-11

 

 

1.  게으름의 결과

The Result of Laziness

1) 빈궁이 강도같이옴 (11)

Poverty will come on you like a bandit.

2) 곤핍이 군사같이옴 (11)

Scarcity will come on you like an armed man.

3) 가난하게 되고 → 부끄러움을 끼침 (잠10:4-5)

Become poor → disgraceful (Pr.10:4-5)

“손을 게으르게 놀리는 자는 가난하게 되고 손이 부지런한 자는 부하게 되느니라 여름에 거두는 자는 지혜로운 아들이나 추수 때에 자는 자는 부끄러움을 끼치는 아들이니라”

“Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.”

4) 부리는 자에게 이에 초같고 눈에 연기같음 (잠10:26)

As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes (Pr.10:26)

“게으른 자는 그 부리는 사람에게 마치 이에 식초 같고 눈에 연기 같으니라”

“As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is a sluggard to those who send him.”

5) 부림을 당함 (잠12:24)

Ends in slave labor (Pr.12:24)

“부지런한 자의 손은 사람을 다스리게 되어도 게으른 자는 부림을 받느니라”

“Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.”

6) 원하는 것을 얻지못함 (잠13:4)

Craves and gets nothing (Pr.13:4)

“게으른 자는 마음으로 원하여도 얻지 못하나 부지런한 자의 마음은 풍족함을 얻느니라”

“The sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.”

7) 길이 가시울타리 같게함 (잠15:19)

Blocked with thorns (Pr.15:19)

“게으른 자의 길은 가시 울타리 같으나 정직한 자의 길은 대로니라”

“The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.”

8) 배가 고픔 (잠19:15)

Goes hungry (Pr.19:15)

“게으름이 사람으로 깊이 잠들게 하나니 태만한 사람을 주릴 것이니라”

“Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless man goes hungry.”

9) 결국 죽임을 당함 (잠21:25)

Murdered in the end (Pr.21:25)

“게으른 자의 욕망이 자기를 죽이나니 이는 자기의 손으로 일하기를 싫어함이니라”

“The sluggard’s craving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work.”

 

 

 

2. 게으른자의 특징

The Characteristics of a Sluggard

1) 육신의 안일함 (잠6:10, 10:4)

Idleness of the Physical Body (Pr.6:10, 10:4)

  (1) 좀 더 자자, 좀 더 졸자, 좀 더 눕자

  A little sleep, a little slumber, a little rest

  (2) 손을 게으르게 놀림 (10:4) – 일하기를 싫어함

  Lazy hands – does not like to work

  (3) 추수때도 잠을 잔다 (잠10:5, 19:15)

  Sleeps during harvest (Pr.10:5, 19:15)

  (4) 방탕을 따르는 자 (잠12:11, 28:19)

  Chases fantasies (Pr.12:11, 28:19)

2) 정신적으로 황폐한 자

Desolate Mentality

  (1) 잡을 것도 사냥치 않음 (잠12:27)

  Does not roast his game (Pr.12:27)

  (2) 손을 그릇에 넣고 입으로 올리기를 괴로워함 (잠19:24)

  Buries his hand in the dish and doesn’t bring it back to his

  mouth (Pr.19:24).

  (3) 조급함 (잠21:5)

  Hasty (Pr.21:5)

  (4) 돌담이 무너진 것을 버려둠 (잠24:31)

  Leaves the stone walls in ruins (Pr.24:31)

3) 영적으로 황폐한 자 (잠26:16)

Desolate Spirituality (Pr.26:16)

“게으른 자는 사리에 맞게 대답하는 사람 일곱보다 자기를 지혜롭게 여기느니라”

“The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer discreetly.”

 

 

 

3. 왜 개미에게서 배워야 하나? - 부지런함

Why should we learn from the ants? – They’re diligent

-개미와 베짱이 The Ant and the Grasshopper

1) 역할 분담을 잘함 Good at dividing roles

2) 질서가 정확함 Have an accurate order

3) 맡겨진 일에 최선을 다함 Do the best in what they’re given to do

 

 

 

 

결론 Conclusion

-가난은 하나님의 계획과 뜻이 아니다.

Poverty is neither God’s plan nor His will.

-그런데 왜 가난할까? 창3장 사건 이후부터

Then why are we poor? Since Genesis chapter 3

1. 하나님을 경외 (잠1:7) – 모든것이 회복

Fear the Lord (Pr.1:7) – Everything is recovered.

2. 진정 축복의 회복의 길 – 부지런함 회복

The way to recover true blessing – Recover diligence

3. 구원하신 하나님 앞에 (Coram Deo)

                    하나님을 위해서 (Soli Deo Gloria)

-골(Col.) 3:23

“무슨 일을 하든지 마음을 다하여 주께 하듯 하고 사람에게 하듯 하지 말라”

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”
