 잠언 (Pr.) 10:10-21

 

 

1. 말이 무엇인가?

What is the Word?

1) 말은 인생의 수단

Life’s Tool

-말은 생각과 마음과 정보를 전달

Words convey thoughts, mind, and information

-창(Gen.)11:1-9, 바벨탑 The Tower of Babel

하나님께서 언어를 혼잡하여 고통스럽게 하심

God confused the language so they couldn’t understand each other.

2) 인생은 말의 열매

Life is the Fruit of Words

(1) 사 (Isa.) 57:19

“입술의 열매를 창조하는 자 여호와가 말하노라…”

“…creating praise (fruit) on the lips…”

(2) 민 (Nu.) 14:28

“…너희 말이 내 귀에 들린대로 내가 너희에게 행하리니”

“…I will do to you the very things I heard you say…”

 

 

 

 

2. 말의 중요성

The Importance of Words

1) 잠(Pr.) 10:11

“의인의 입은 생명의 샘이라도 악인의 입은 독을 머금었느니라”

“The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.”

2) 잠(Pr.) 10:13

“명철한 자의 입술에는 지혜가 있어도 지혜 없는 자의 등을 위하여는 채찍이 있느니라”

“Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks judgment.”

3) 잠(Pr.) 13:2

“사람은 입의 열매로 인하여 복록을 누리거니와 마음이 궤시한 자는 강포를 당하느니라”

“From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful have a craving for violence.”

4) 잠(Pr.) 20:15

“세상에 금도 있고 진주도 많거니와 지혜로운 입술이 더욱 귀한 보배니라”

“Gold there is, and rubies in abundance, but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.”

5) 잠(Pr.) 18:20

“사람은 입에서 나오는 열매로 말미암아 배부르게 되나니 곧 그의 입술에서 나는 것으로 말미암아 만족하게 되느니라”

“From the fruit of his mouth a man’s stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.”

6) 잠(Pr.) 18:21

“죽고  사는 것이 혀의 힘에 달렸나니 혀를 쓰기 좋아하는 자는 혀의 열매를 먹으리라”

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

7) 잠(Pr.) 21:23

“입과 혀를 지키는 자는 자기의 영혼을 환난에서 보전하느니라”

“He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.”

 

 

 

 

3. 어떤 말을 해야 하나?

What words should we speak?

1) 은혜로운 말 (골4:6)

Graceful words (Col. 4:6)

“너희 말을 항상 은혜 가운데서 소금으로 맛을 냄과 같이 하라 그리하면 각 사람에게 마땅히 대답할 것을 알리라”

“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

-다투는 말

Words that start quarrels

잠(Pr.) 17:14

“다투는 시작은 둑에서 물이 새는 것 같은즉 싸움이 일어나기 전에 시비를 그칠것 이니라”

“Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.”

2) 책망할 것이 없는 말 (딛2:7-8)

Speak without rebuking (Tit. 2:7-8)

“책망할 것이 없는 바른 말을 하게 하라…”

“and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned…”

3) 정확한 말 (마5:37)

Correct Words (Mt. 5:37)

“오직 너희 말을 옳다 옳다, 아니라 아니라 하라…”

“Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No;”

 

 

 

 

 

결론 Conclusion

-벧전 (1Peter) 3:10-11

“그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날 보기를 원하는 자는 혀를 금하여 악한 말을 그치며 그 입술로 거짓을 말하지 말고 악에서 떠나 선을 행하고 화평을 구하며 그것을 따르라”

“For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.”

“경우에 합당한 말은 아로새긴 은 쟁반에 금 사과니라”

“A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.”
